CANADIAN DECORATORS’ ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES
WINNERS OF THE
2011 DECORATING AND DESIGN COMPETITION

Toronto, ON – April 19, 2011 – The Canadian Decorators’ Association (CDECA™) proudly announced the winners of its annual awards program at a gala reception yesterday at the Vaughan Estate in Toronto.

Evaluated by an independent panel of judges, the prestigious National Awards recognize excellence in eight (8) categories, honouring innovation, creativity, and professional achievement in interior decoration and design across Canada. This year’s judges awarded projects in eight (8) categories: Kitchen; Bathroom; Interior Decoration Under $25,000; Interior Decoration Over $25,000; Challenging Budget; Commercial; Green; Student Project. Winning projects showcase a wide range of design talent, from simple renovations through to major renovations and restoration projects. “Having worked on the Awards Committee for the past three (3) years, the caliber of work is becoming more and more innovative and impressive each year,” says Sara Nadeau, outgoing Secretary from the CDECA™ Board of Directors.

This year, three (3) members were honoured with multiple awards. Elizabeth Metcalfe, of Elizabeth Metcalfe Interiors and Design, received one (1) Gold, one (1) Silver, and two (2) Bronze for her Green, Kitchen, Bathroom, and Commercial interior projects, respectively. Nathalie Tremblay, of Arch Design, won the Gold in Kitchen and Silver in Bathroom. And Ali Gibson, a student at George Brown, won both the Gold and Bronze in the Student Project category.
